Sharpening season

This is the time of year when I like to make a point of sharpening my blades (before "peak season" hits). Honest Abe once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” In other words, keeping your tools ready for action is more than half the battle. Consider this your friendly reminder to SHARPEN THOSE BLADES!!

Once you're in the backcountry, there's no excuse for a knife that barely passes muster. And in case you're a newbie at this, we've rounded up our favorite tutorials to walk you through the process.
